What to expect & How to Prepare
Auditions with the Waco Civic Theatre occur approximately 4-6 weeks prior to the show’s opening date. Audition postings are updated on this page and promoted on social media. Auditionees will sign up for a time using the link provided, prepare a song or monologue according to the audition directions, and submit an audition form to the panel inside the audition room. The director may also ask auditionees to read selections from the script. Either a cast list or a call-back list will be posted both to the website and social media about 24 hours after the final audition is completed.

What to Prepare
- For Backwards Broadway, we are asking performers to audition with a 1-minute cut of a solo “miscast” song of their choice. Use a karaoke track on your own device or sing a capella.
We also have a few group numbers and duets/trios that will be part of the show.
- “Mama I’m a Big Girl Now” – Hairspray. Looking for 3 Tenor/Baritone/Bass voices.
- “Agony” – Into the Woods. Looking for 2 Alto/Soprano voices.
- “Cell Block Tango” – Chicago. Looking for 3-6 Tenor/Baritone/Bass voices.
- “Sincerely Me” – Dear Evan Hansen. Looking for 3 Alto/Soprano voices.
Come defy type and shatter tradition, we can’t wait to cast you in something entirely inappropriate.
