Auditions typically take place 5 to 6 weeks ahead of production dates. Rehearsals are generally Monday through Thursday evenings, with occasional work or dance calls on Saturday afternoons. Actors at Waco Civic are not compensated; we try to provide as welcoming, supportive, and flexible atmosphere as is possible for auditions, rehearsals and performances. For musicals, auditioners are generally required to:

• bring a prepared song in the style of the show to sing for the Music Director/Vocal Coach
• be prepared to dance a short combination of steps for the Choreographer
• read a scene (sometimes a “cold” read, sometimes the script is available in advance for the Director

Auditions are public, though potential cast members are frequently divided into numbered groups to facilitate seeing as many actors as possible.
