Auditions at the Waco Civic Theatre

Everyone's Stage. Everyone's Story.

At Waco Civic Theatre, we don’t just put on shows—we build community, spark imagination, and invite people of all ages and backgrounds to be part of something extraordinary.

Whether you’re a veteran of the stage, a shower-singer with a dream, or a 6-year-old with glitter in your veins, we want you here. We’ve cast performers from age 6 to 86, and our greatest joy is seeing a cast that reflects the rich diversity, creativity, and spirit of Central Texas.

So take a deep breath, take a bold step, and come audition. This isn’t Broadway—this is your way.

How It Works

Auditions typically take place 4–6 weeks before a show opens.

Here’s What to Expect

Find the Details: Audition notices are posted right here and on our social media. Each listing has everything you need to know—including the signup link.

Claim Your Spot: Choose an audition time that works for you. We run on schedule, so show up a few minutes early to settle in.

Prepare to Shine: Each show has different requirements—maybe a song, a monologue, or a cold reading. It’ll be clearly stated in the audition post.

Meet the Team: When you arrive, you’ll fill out a quick audition form and perform for the director and creative team. You might be asked to read from the script or try something on the spot. That’s where the fun begins.

Watch for Results: Within 24 hours of final auditions, we’ll post callback or cast lists on the website and social media.

Auditions are open. Opportunities are everywhere. Theatre is for you. Yes—you.

Top 5 Tips for Audition Success

Be Prepared, Not Perfect

We’re not looking for polished Broadway stars—we’re looking for people ready to play, grow, and tell a story. Know your material, but don’t stress over perfection.

Show Us YOU

Your personality matters. Confidence, curiosity, kindness—all of that reads. Let us see who you are, not just the character.

Read the Room (and the Script)

If materials are provided ahead of time, give them a read! Understanding the tone of the show helps you stand out.

Dress for Comfort and Character

Wear something that lets you move and express yourself. No need for costumes—but channel the vibe.

Take the Leap

The hardest part is showing up. Once you walk in that door, you’re already a part of the magic.

Questions?

Nervous? Curious? We get it. Email boxoffice@wacocivictheatre.com, and someone from our team will help guide you through.
